I wrote these target market profiles for the campaign plans book in my capstone campaigns course at Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at UGA.
Target Market Profile 1
Elijah is a 34 year-old man living in Brookhaven, GA with his 6 year-old son, Charlie. While he fully loves the parenting life, he still has many of his own interests, one being that he is a huge sports fan. Elijah usually streams as many games as possible and attends a few games every season. Now that Charlie is getting older, Elijah
has noticed that his son wants to watch games with him more often. Watching sports has become a special bonding time that they are able to spend together. Recently, Elijah has been thinking about taking Charlie to his first game.
Target Market Profile 2
Mia is a 35 year-old woman living in Duluth with her 8 year-old son, Noah. Mia is a passionate photographer who loves taking pictures whenever possible. When Noah gets home from school, he watches YouTube and plays video games for a few hours. Mia really wants to involve Noah in the occasional group activity that will teach him things like cooperation and teamwork. Plus, it wouldn’t hurt if the chosen event was entertaining for Mia too. To find local events and activities, Mia usually checks out mom Facebook groups that she’s a part of and asks her friends if they have heard of anything that she and Noah might enjoy. If that activity also includes great photo opportunities to post on Instagram, that’s even better!
Target Market Profile 3
Alice is a 49 year-old mother of a 12 year-old girl, Sophie, and a 10 year-old boy, Austin, and they live in an upper-middle-class neighborhood in Sandy Springs. Alice uses Facebook to stay connected with close friends and family. She spends the better part of her day at work as a dentist, while her husband, Jack, picks the kids up from school and takes them to their after school sports practice. When Alice gets home, she enjoys quality time with her family eating dinner and watching their favorite sports game on TV.
